Children's Work

Children in Year 6 have written some poems related to their work on homelessness in R.E

Feeling Lonely by Alicia Osborne

When you’re homeless,

You’re lonely, sad.

The streets are dark,

You don’t know what lies ahead.

It’s a frightening, dangerous place.

Your hunger overwhelming.

You can’t escape the nightmare.

All you want is comfort, somewhere warm to sleep.

But you have to fight for that.

Home and Loneliness Haunt You by Patrick Kehoe

Home and loneliness haunt you,

Feeling sad, angry,

Let down,

Ignored.

Danger,

Fright hunting you down.

Thirsty, hungry, tired,

Lonely all the time.

Park benches for beds.

Old scraps for food.

Travelling always.

Searching always ,

For food ,

Water ,

And job.
