Dear Parents,

MADIANA LOWER SCHOOL GAMBIA

This morning, Kate Green and Vic Heritage took assembly and showed the children how work has progressed at Madiana Lower School. The new classroom has been completed and is now in use. Kate and Vic would like to send their thanks to everyone who has made this possible; Halling School has raised over £1000 for this project in the last year. When we became involved with this work, we had a collection of stationery items to send out to the Gambia. We would like to re-launch this appeal over the next few weeks and we hope to send a consignment of pencils and paper to our partner school with Kate and her family at Easter. If you would like to support this appeal, please send any pencils or paper/exercise books/pads etc. to the school office. Thank you once again for your continuing support.

FRIENDS OF HALLING FUND RAISING

We would like to say a huge thank you to all parents involved on the Friends of Halling for their hard work and for giving up their own time to support the school.  Thank you also to everyone who supports fund raising activities at the school. Over the last year, £1401 has been raised. Two large sheds have been purchased and erected near to the swimming pool. These are needed to store all of our outdoor learning equipment. Many thanks to Mr Polworth (and friends) for their time, effort and expertise in  helping to erect the sheds .We are currently obtaining quotes to have the playground markings redone in a longer lasting finish. Through the School Council, the children have requested the addition of a chess board on the playground so we will be adding this to the current markings.

Yours sincerely,

W. Donnelly

Deputy Head Teacher
