Through PE, children develop their understanding of physical health; how regular exercise can impact our bodies and the importance of a balanced diet. Children learn the physical benefits of warming up to prepare the body for exercise and a cool down to aid recovery. In school, children learn team games such as football, tag rugby, hockey, rounders, netball amongst others. Within these games, children learn attack and defence techniques, become confident working as part of a team and understand the importance of communication and respect.
In April, we will participate in World Health Day which looks at the five senses, nutrition, our bodies, the importance of hand washing and much more. In May, we will take part in the annual Walk to School Week which promotes physical activity on a day to day basis, encouraging families and friends to take part in setting a positive example for positive attitude towards exercise.
Please see links below for further information about healthy eating and events that will take place in school.
