Welcome to Austria Class!

Your class teacher this year will be Miss Bancroft and your teaching assistant will be Miss Burr. Next door is Iceland class and their adults are Miss Frampton and Mrs Clements.

I am very excited to be working with you again this year and Miss Burr is really looking forward to getting to know you all. We have many interesting learning opportunities for the year ahead, which I am sure that you will really enjoy.

Things will continue to be slightly different to begin with, but we will work together to ensure that they are as smooth as can be. We have carefully thought about your day at school. During this term, we will still be having Playing and Learning in our classrooms and shared areas, a bit like how we would have it in Foundation Stage.

One of the changes will be our staggered start and drop off times (this is to ensure we do not mix bubbles). You will be dropped off at 8:25am at the Key Stage 1 gate, which is opposite the school office entrance. Either Miss Bancroft or I will be waiting for you. You will then be collected from the same gate at 2:55pm.

Throughout the day, you will be washing your hands regularly to help fight Covid-19 and instead of sitting in table groups, you will be sitting in rows. We will have hand sanitiser stations around the rooms for you to use prior to playing with equipment.

Our PE day is a Tuesday and on that day only you must wear your PE kit into school and you will not be getting changed out of it until you are home. Remember, you must wear black jogging bottoms/leggings/shorts, black trainers, a white T-Shirt and a black jacket/jumper for warmth.

We will have break and lunch in our year group bubbles to ensure that we are not mixing in large groups. Our break time will be 10-10:15am and our lunch time will be 11:45-12:45.

Let us work together to keep ourselves and one another safe by sticking to the above.

Please do not hesitate to come and speak to us if you have any questions or worries. We understand that a new year and these strange times we find ourselves in may cause some anxieties. We are always here to listen and support.
